It’s pretty common for projects to take a little while before they premiere to the public. I’m excited to announce that a TV Pilot I worked on at the end of last year will be debuting soon. This is one of the perks of being an actress. Just when a project has gone into the recesses of your brain, it comes back around in a new life form with the same rush of excitement you felt while working on it and you say “THIS is why I do what I do.” I have to admit, auditioning and working without the proof that you’re accomplishing anything can sometimes be a daunting task, and I’ve even questioned whether to tell people if I’m an actress or not. Usually, the first question they ask is “Have I seen you in anything? What are you working on now?” For those who don’t understand what a victory it is to have an audition–even without booking the job–my resume compared to someone you see starring on a weekly show might not seem like much. However, when you get an audition, book the role, the film/commercial/show comes out, AND you haven’t fallen to the cutting room floor…well, that’s an accomplishment.
You might remember a post I did a while ago about this very project, and how I didn’t initially get a leading role, but my persistence–and God’s favor–paid off in the form of booking as a day player. As of September, I’ll be able to see the final result of hours of hard work put in by a great team. Below is the trailer for the TV Pilot, and soon we’ll have more information regarding when you can see this fine project. (I’m not featured in the trailer, so don’t look for me. Just enjoy the show for what it is.) The Very Smart Brothas have already gotten major steam behind them, so I look forward to seeing what comes of it. Watch on, and let us know what you think:
You can also get a little more background on the series here. Thank you so much for visiting. God Bless you and your journey.
Until next time,
