In the fall of 2015, I was asked by a good friend of mine to be in a fashion show. It had been a while since I walked the runway because I was focusing on being a new mommy, so I was little hesitant but ultimately excited to be involved. I was informed that there would be a few rehearsals before the main event, and that assured me that this was a professional process and I’d have plenty of time to get comfortable in my element again.
Every time I attended rehearsal, I was so excited and humbled to be involved because not only was it fashion (which I love!) it was a ministry showcase and had a positive message about spreading God’s light with the world. I’m all about that! Not only did I walk in the show, I was hired to produce the motion graphics that were displayed during the entirety of the runway experience.
Once the show was done and over with, the connections and networking started. I was blessed to be asked by one of the designers to model for his website and lookbook (which is coming soon). I was also informed that there are two more Fashioned4Life Showcases happening this year, and I will be modeling in those as well. It’s amazing what happens when you tell God “I think I’m ready.” and ask for His blessing. I wrote before about my other experiences post-baby. Juggling motherhood and a career has proven to be harder than I expected, but ultimately doable. Many more announcements for my career coming soon!
Thank you for being a part of my journey. You can see some photos and footage from rehearsals, behind the scenes, and the actual show here on Instagram. The program should be airing soon, and I’ll update you on when that happens.
Until next time…
