Since I’ve been compared to this lovely actress many times, I decided to look up some of Zoe Saldana‘s red carpet moments to inspire a look for my feature film premiere of “He Heard My Cry“ at The Hollywood Black Film Festival on October 28th, 2012.

In the center photo above, I love the length of the dress paired with the classy vintage element the lace material provides for an upscale event that doesn’t necessarily call for a floor-length gown. Fortunately, I was able to borrow a dress from a good friend that matches the feel of the black dress Zoe is wearing. [This saved me about three days of running around to different stores trying to find it myself.] I also stumbled upon some great black platform pumps at Kohl’s while trying to find a use for their $10 coupon that came in the mail a few weeks ago. Don’t you just love those?

As far as my hair and makeup, Tayen Styles has agreed to beautify me before my public debut. We’re going to base my hairstyle off of Zoe’s:

…as well as a hairstyle Tayen has been wanting to do lately.

I’m a huge fan of a smokey eye and a nude lip, so the makeup will be similar to my Hot Hot Heat photoshoot makeup:
